This Privacy Policy explains what information MissionStride may access, collect, use, transmit, store, or share when you use the application, including its fitness tracking, GPS, challenge, analytics, advertising, and subscription features.

Information We May Access or Collect

Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, MissionStride may access or process the following categories of information:

• Step-count and physical activity information
• Precise and approximate location information
• Running distance, speed, pace, duration, and progress
• Challenge participation and completion information
• Device-generated identifiers used to support app functionality
• App usage and analytics information
• Advertising identifiers where permitted by your device and settings
• Subscription and purchase status
• Information you voluntarily enter when creating or joining challenges

Location Data

MissionStride uses location information to provide GPS-based fitness features such as Custom Runs, running missions, community challenges, distance measurement, speed calculation, pace calculation, route tracking, and progress tracking.

When you start an active GPS-based run or mission, MissionStride may access your precise location while the run is in progress. On supported devices, location tracking may continue while MissionStride is running in the background or while the device screen is locked so that the app can continue measuring your run without interruption.

On Android, MissionStride uses a foreground location service during an active run. This means the app may continue receiving location updates while the app is not visible, and Android may display an ongoing notification indicating that MissionStride is tracking the run.

MissionStride does not request unrestricted background location access when no active GPS-based run or mission has been started by the user.

Custom Run Location Processing

During a Custom Run, GPS information is used to calculate your distance, speed, pace, elapsed time, and progress toward the distance you selected.

Custom Run location information is primarily processed on your device for the purpose of tracking and calculating your run.

Community and Marathon Mission Location

When participating in certain Community Mission or Marathon features, MissionStride may transmit your current latitude and longitude to MissionStride servers while the mission is active.

This information may be used to provide live participant tracking, indicate whether a participant is actively running, display progress during the event, and support the community mission experience.

MissionStride stops active location tracking when the run or mission ends, when tracking is stopped, or when the applicable tracking service is terminated.

Step Tracking and Physical Activity Data

MissionStride may access step-counting and physical activity information available on your device to provide daily step goals, progress tracking, points, fitness statistics, and related features.

Step-count information used for daily step tracking is generally processed and stored locally on your device unless a specific feature requires information to be transmitted to MissionStride servers.

Information You Provide

Some MissionStride features allow you to voluntarily provide information, such as a participant name, challenge name, cause, challenge description, event date, distance, or other information needed to create or join a Community Mission or Marathon.

Information submitted for community features may be stored on MissionStride servers so that the challenge can be created, joined, displayed, managed, and completed.

Device Identifiers

MissionStride may use a device-generated identifier or similar technical identifier to recognize an app installation, associate participation with a challenge, maintain app functionality, or support user-related features without requiring a traditional account.

Analytics

MissionStride may use analytics services, including Firebase Analytics, to understand how the app is used, evaluate feature performance, diagnose problems, and improve the MissionStride experience.

Analytics providers may process information such as app interactions, device information, operating system information, app version, general usage events, and technical identifiers in accordance with their own privacy practices.

Advertising and Meta Services

MissionStride includes Meta/Facebook technologies that may support app analytics, advertising measurement, campaign attribution, and related functionality.

Where permitted by your device settings and applicable law, these technologies may access or process advertising identifiers, device information, app interaction information, and related technical data.

You may be able to limit advertising tracking or identifier access through your device privacy settings.

Subscriptions and Payment Information

If you purchase a MissionStride subscription or other in-app product, the transaction is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

MissionStride does not receive or store your full credit card number, bank account details, or other payment credentials. MissionStride may receive information necessary to determine purchase or subscription status, such as whether a subscription is active, purchased, restored, expired, or cancelled.

How We Use Information

MissionStride may use information described in this Policy to:

• Provide GPS-based run and mission tracking
• Calculate distance, speed, pace, duration, and progress
• Provide step goals and physical activity features
• Operate Community Missions and Marathon challenges
• Display live participant progress where applicable
• Save challenge participation and results
• Provide subscriptions and premium features
• Measure app performance and usage
• Diagnose errors and improve MissionStride
• Measure advertising and marketing campaign performance
• Protect the integrity and operation of the service

Data Sharing

MissionStride does not sell or rent your personal information.

Information may be processed or shared with service providers when necessary to operate MissionStride, including analytics providers, advertising and attribution providers, app store and payment providers, hosting infrastructure, and other technical service providers.

These providers may process information according to their own terms, privacy policies, and applicable legal requirements.

Data Storage and Retention

Some MissionStride information, such as local preferences, step progress, settings, and certain fitness information, may be stored locally on your device.

Information required for Community Missions, Marathon participation, challenge results, live participant functionality, and related server-based features may be stored on MissionStride servers.

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the relevant feature, operate the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or protect the security and integrity of MissionStride.

Data Deletion Requests

You may request deletion of personal data associated with your use of MissionStride at any time.

To request deletion, send an email to tigana086@gmail.com with the subject line "MissionStride Data Deletion Request".

In your request, please provide enough information for us to identify the MissionStride data you want deleted, such as your participant name, challenge or marathon name, or other information associated with the relevant activity.

Please do not include passwords, full payment card information, banking details, or other sensitive information in your deletion request.

After receiving and verifying a valid deletion request, we will delete or anonymize the applicable personal data stored on MissionStride systems unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or other legitimate purposes.

Data stored only on your device can generally be removed by clearing MissionStride's app data or uninstalling the application.

Information processed independently by third-party services such as Google Play, Apple, Firebase, or Meta may also be subject to those providers' own data deletion and retention procedures.

Your Choices and Permissions

You control whether MissionStride can access certain device information through your device permission settings.

You may deny or revoke location, physical activity, notification, or other permissions at any time through your device settings. Some MissionStride features may not function properly if a required permission is disabled.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information handled by MissionStride from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children's Privacy

MissionStride is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without appropriate authorization.

If we become aware that information has been collected from a child in a manner that violates applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Third-Party Services

MissionStride may use third-party services, including Firebase, Meta, Apple App Store services, Google Play services, and hosting or technical service providers.

These third parties may process certain information according to their own privacy policies. MissionStride encourages users to review the privacy practices of those providers.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to MissionStride features, data practices, legal requirements, or third-party services.

Any updated version will be posted on the MissionStride website and may also be made available within the application. The "Last Updated" date above indicates when this Privacy Policy was most recently revised.
